Last week I found Bradley (my black Lab) staring proudly at a sock he did not chew up.

And I laughed becauseā¦ honestly?
Humans arenāt much different.
We rarely celebrate the small wins.
We walk right past them like they donāt count.
But they do. Especially when youāre learning tech later in life.
A few months ago, Frank admitted something:
āBob, I thought AI was going to eat me alive. Now Iām using it to organize grocery lists.ā
He said it like it didnāt matter.
But it mattered a lot.
Because confidence comes from exactly that kind of thing, the tiny steps you assume are too small to celebrate.
Let me confess a mistake of my own:
When I started, I dismissed these ālittleā milestones too.
I thought the only wins worth celebrating were income wins.
Turns out the real wins come long before that.

1. List 3 things you can do now that you couldnāt last January.
Examples:
Opening ChatGPT without feeling nervous
Creating a simple post
Uploading a file
Using copy/paste without breaking anything
Understanding a scam faster than before
Tiny things count. Especially tiny things.
2. List one moment where you surprised yourself.
Maybe you solved a problem.
Maybe you helped someone else.
Maybe you didnāt panic when a button moved.
3. Write this question at the top of your notes:
āIf this is what I can learn in a yearā¦ what else am I capable of?ā
Because that question is fuel.
