Hi {{first name|there}},

Welcome back to Retire & RISE.

Hi {{first name|there}},

I took a look at the responses from earlier this week…

And something interesting showed up.

Not surprising—but interesting.

On one hand, some of you said you feel pretty confident using AI.

On the other hand, many of you said you don’t really understand how it works… or that it feels a bit overwhelming.

At first glance, that might seem like a contradiction.

But it’s not.

It’s actually exactly where most people are.

Here’s what that means

Most people don’t fully understand AI.

But they can still use it.

Think about something simple like driving a car.

You do not need to understand the engine…
to get where you want to go.

AI works the same way.

You can:

  • ask a question

  • get an answer

  • use what helps

…without needing to understand everything behind the scenes.

And that is completely normal.

Why some of this still feels uncomfortable

A few of you mentioned something else too.

Not just confusion…

But a quiet worry.

“What if I do something wrong?”

That one matters.

Because that feeling can stop people before they even begin.

Here’s the truth.

There is very little you can “break” when using something like ChatGPT.

You are not going to damage anything.

You are not going to mess something up beyond fixing.

The worst case?

You get an answer that does not help.

And then you try again.

That’s it.

.

What I see happening (and this is the good part)

You are not at the beginning.

Even if it feels that way sometimes.

You’ve already:

  • been curious

  • paid attention

  • maybe explored a little

That puts you ahead of where many people stay.

Stuck in “I should probably look into that someday.”

You are already past that.

.

A small shift that helps

Instead of thinking:

“I need to understand this better…”

Try thinking:

“I’ll get more comfortable just by using it a little.”

That one shift changes everything.

Because comfort comes from experience.

Not from studying.

.

📌 One small win for this week

If you’ve been curious…
That counts.

If something made you pause and think,
“That might actually be useful…”

That counts too.

Small wins are how this builds.

Not big breakthroughs.

Just for fun

Here is a fun prompt to try.

“Turn this into a simple cartoon idea: A retired man learning to use a computer for the first time. Make it light and funny.”

Impress your friends and neighbors with your cartoons. Enjoy.

🎁 Before we head into next week

We’re going to start making this feel a little more practical.

Nothing complicated.

Just simple, everyday ways this can fit into your life.

At your pace.

🌱 Closing Thought

If you want, you can reply with just one word:

“clear” or “still unsure”

No pressure either way—both are completely normal.

It just helps me understand where you are.

See you at the bank. 💰
