Welcome back to Retire & RISE {{first name}}

The Things You No Longer Have to Think About

There is a particular kind of progress that is easy to miss.

It is not the kind where you finish something and feel proud. It is quieter than that. It is the moment you realize you just did something without hesitation, without looking it up, without worrying about whether you were doing it right.

That is what I want to talk about today.

Because if you have been reading Retire & RISE since March, something has happened to you that you may not have given yourself credit for yet.

Here is what this issue is about:

  • The specific things that felt confusing in March that most readers now handle without a second thought

  • Why that kind of quiet progress is actually the most valuable kind

  • A simple way to measure how far your comfort level has genuinely moved

  • One question I would like you to answer because your answer matters more than you might think

🔄 What We Were Working Through in March

Think back to the first few weeks of this newsletter.

We were asking basic questions. What is AI, really? What does it actually do? Is it something I need to worry about or something I could actually use?

For most readers, those were not simple questions. They carried a little weight. A little uncertainty. Maybe even a little resistance.

We talked about AI as a thinking partner, not a robot. We talked about how you do not need to be techy to use it. We talked about the difference between understanding something and being overwhelmed by it.

At the time, those conversations were necessary because the concepts were new.

Here is what is interesting: most of those conversations would feel unnecessary today.

🧠 What Normal Actually Looks Like Now

By the time we reached May, the weekly themes had shifted. We were no longer asking "what is this?" We were asking "what works for me?" and "what do I want to do with it?"

That shift is significant. It means the foundational questions got answered, not by me explaining them, but by you getting comfortable enough that they stopped feeling like questions.

Here are some things that are likely normal for you now that were not in March:

Hearing the word "AI" without tensing up. Reading an article about ChatGPT and understanding most of it. Knowing that AI is a tool, not a threat, not magic, not something only young people can use.

Maybe you have tried a simple prompt. Maybe you have used ChatGPT to help you think through something, write something, or organize something. Maybe you have not done any of that yet but you know you could. And that is different from where you were.

The bar for "normal" moves quietly. You rarely notice it happening. But look back far enough and it becomes obvious.

📊 A Simple Way to Measure Your Own Shift

Here is a quick exercise. It takes about two minutes.

Think about the first issue you ever read from Retire & RISE. The one from March 17th. Why feeling unsure is actually the right place to start.

Ask yourself: does that title still describe where you are?

For most readers, the answer is no. Unsure has shifted to something else. Maybe cautious but curious. Maybe slowly trying. Maybe more comfortable than expected.

Now ask yourself: what is one thing about AI that feels normal to you now that did not feel normal in March?

It does not have to be dramatic. It does not have to be impressive. It just has to be true.

That one thing, whatever it is, is evidence of real progress.

💡 Still Want to Know What Might Be Holding You Back?

Last Tuesday I mentioned the RISE Readiness Quiz — and the technical problem that kept some of you from seeing your results when it first went out.

That has been fixed.

The quiz is twelve simple questions. At the end, you get a free personal report that shows you clearly what your biggest hurdle might be when it comes to getting started online.

A lot of readers find it useful not because it surprises them — but because it names something they already felt but could not quite put into words.

Free to take. Optional $7 complete package if you want to go further. No pressure either way.

🌿 Before Saturday

This Thursday issue is part of a three-part look back at Q1. Tuesday was about noticing how far you have come. Saturday will be about the direction that is starting to feel right - the income side of things, approached honestly and without pressure.

But before Saturday, I have one question for you.

Reply and tell me one thing about AI that feels normal to you now that did not feel normal back in March.

One sentence is plenty. Even one word works.

I am asking because your answer will help shape what comes next. And because after thirteen weeks together, I am genuinely curious where you have landed.
